What are CBD flowers and how to use them?

CBD is one of the many cannabinoid compounds extracted from the cannabis plant. While the psychotropic cannabinoid THC is known for the high it induces, CBD has no such side effects. However, it has the potential to affect the mind and body in a number of ways. CBD has been studied extensively, and the scientific literature indicates fascinating results both in vitro (in a petri dish) and in vivo (in a living organism). Research on this topic is ongoing, but it is certainly promising. CBD flowers contain many secondary plant compounds, including flavonoids and polyphenols. Depending on how it is used, much of these antioxidants remain and can be almost completely absorbed by the body. But CBD's positive effects are not only attributed to the polyphenols, the cannabinoids themselves are also said to contribute.

CBD flowers are cannabis sativa flowers that contain less than 0.3% THC. Cannabis sativa can be bred to be dominant in any of the eight major cannabinoids, which include cannabigerol (CBG), cannabinol (CBN), and cannabichromene (CBC). The only reason CBD-dominant hemp flowers are more common than CBN-dominant or CBG-dominant flowers right now is because CBD became popular before any other non-intoxicating cannabinoids. Most CBD-rich cannabis strains take about four weeks to grow to full size, and they take another 8-9 weeks to flower. Once they reach their peak potency, the flowers of CBD-rich hemp varieties are harvested and dried, and then stored in airtight containers to cure. At this point, the CBD flower is now ready to be consumed. But now many potential users are left with the question: what do I do with CBD flowers? Currently, especially 3 methods are particularly popular to take CBD flowers. We would like to present these in more detail below:

Smoke CBD buds

Although they contain less than 0.3% THC, you can smoke CBD buds just like any other form of cannabis. However, there are significant differences in the quality of the smoke that different CBD buds provide. CBD buds grown outdoors might not taste as good, however, and outdoor buds tend to have lower cannabinoid concentrations. For the best smoking experience, opt for premium quality and use indoor-grown cannabis buds. One of the most impressive benefits of CBD flower is the rapid onset of action that pulmonary (meaning ingestion through the lungs) CBD ingestion provides. Keep in mind that the effects of smoked CBD flower usually only last 30-60 minutes. Therefore, you will need to smoke CBD flower frequently if you want to experience the benefits of this method of ingestion over the course of a day. Since inhaling CBD bypasses the filtering mechanisms of the digestive system, allowing CBD to reach the brain quickly, the effects of inhaled CBD are also much stronger than other ingestion methods.

Vaporize CBD flowers

In recent years, vaporizing (or "vaping") has become very popular. This is not only true for nicotine, but also for CBD flowers. Since vapor penetrates the lungs better than smoke, vaporizing hemp flowers can be more effective than smoking. In addition, vaporizing preserves the terpenes and flavonoids that give CBD flower its unique flavor. The advantage to vaporizing, is that no smoke enters the lungs. When smoking CBD, tobacco is often added, and its negative health effects are well known. To vaporize CBD, there are 2 ways. Either you use a vaporizer designed for vaporizing herbs, or you resort to CBD oil.
